      friends-of-the-random-summer compilation cd

      friends-of-the-random-summer is a compilation of mum music organized by the Friends of the Random Summer mailing-list. The purpose is to collect hard to get releases and other obscure stuff into a simple 3 CDR compilation.
      The compilation will be distributed using a tree system for the people who signed up through the mailing list. The cover & packaging can be downloaded from this page.

      This fan-compilation traces mum's prolific career from 1998 until the release of "Yesterday was dramatic, today is ok". We try to show on these 3 CD's the many facets of mum, all the remixes they have done and the many collaborations in which the band took part. The compilation represents not only mum's music and work, but also the fertile Icelandic music scene. In it you see represented the hard work of many people and many labels like, Kitchenmotors, Vertical Form, One Little Indian, Morr Music, Badtaste, Monika Records and Planet µ. We hope that this compilation not only makes you discover mum's earlier work, but also generates interest about the releases on all these labels. Enjoy!
