The Kinks' earliest EPs, collected here, show the group's brilliance right from the start. Even their first R&B-flavored numbers are a cut above, thanks to Ray Davies' distinct vocal style. By the time they get to tracks like "Waterloo Sunset" and "Picture Book," they're writing unparalleled pop songs.
