"Not Too Soon" was guitarist/vocalist Tanya Donelly's first and last single with the Throwing Muses. The straightforward pop style she had developed during her tenure with the band is exemplified in the song, which, alongside "Honeychain," feels a bit out of context next to the Kristin Hersh originals on The Real Ramona. A stellar cover of the Beatles' "Cry Baby Cry" and two standard-issue studio remixes of other album tracks round out the single. — Bryan Carroll
